Is Nasal Reshaping Right For You?
Selecting a rhinoplasty procedure is an important step to attaining a more attractive nose that will contribute to your facial harmony.
Good candidates for rhinoplasty:
- Over 18 years of age
- Good physical health
- Non smoker
- Tangible, reasonable goals
After a formal evaluation and discussion of areas of nasal concern, a rhinoplasty involves general anesthesia on an outpatient basis. Most nasal reshaping lasts one to three hours in duration but varies based on the complexity of the problem. Incisions are made inside the nose to gain access to target areas where cartilage and bone are precisely reduced, reshaped, and/or augmented. The incisions are closed with dissolvable stitches. External and occasional internal dressings are applied. Nasal packing is rarely necessary. Post operative discomfort should be minimal. Dressings, if applied, are removed within seven to ten days.
Following nasal surgery, it may take two to three months for swelling to fully subside, and up to six months for changes with respect to subtle refinements. At this time, the final shape and appearance of the nose is typically evident. At Hurst Plastic Surgery, Dr. Hurst and his staff are dedicated to providing you with a personalized, natural, aesthetic appearing nose that is in proportion to the rest of your face.
